![]() This is arguably the single most important Islamic science - much more significant, for example, than theology. If God is the real author of the sharia, scholars produce fiqh – literally “understanding”, but in this context “jurisprudence”. Muslims have traditionally agreed that an Islamic society should be governed in a manner consistent with the sharia. But the sharia also includes rules on marriage, divorce, inheritance, commerce, torts, war, international relations, and government. Naturally there are prescriptions about when and how to pray or fast. Islamic law is, in theory, extremely comprehensive. Another important principle for applying the sharia is maslaha: that which most benefits the community. For example, since the Qur’an forbids wine, it is obvious that spirits, not known in Muhammad’s time, must also be prohibited. Muslim scholars have developed techniques such as analogical reasoning to deal with situations not directly explained in them. Together, the Qur’an and the sunna are the material sources of the sharia. Not all hadiths are authentic, though, so Muslim scholars try to sift the genuine from the false by examining the chain of people who had allegedly passed on each report. These were passed on orally before being committed to writing. The Qur’an is supplemented by the teaching and example of the Prophet (the sunna), known through thousands of reports or traditions (hadiths). These obligations are most authoritatively declared in the Qur’an (Koran) or “recitation”, which was revealed in stages to the Prophet Muhammad (who lived from about 570 to 632). For Muslims, the morally good life consists of surrendering oneself to God (Allah) by obeying his requirements – which is the meaning of the word “Islam”. The usual Arabic word for Islamic law is sharia (pronounced shar-ee-ah), originally the track leading to a waterhole in the desert. H) Muslims have no long term plan to fight for Islamic revival.Islam, like Judaism, is a religion of law. G) Muslims have no strong intellectual defense against liberalism, even though liberalism is intellectually weak. What can we generalize about the Muslim political and social landscape from Malaysian analysis? We can establish the following observations:Ī) Muslims are disunited on petty feuds, envy, jealousy and greed.ī) Muslim societies are existing on major sins and Allah's mercy is withheld from them as per the proclamations in various HadithsĬ) The Muslim political and social landscape is dominated by hypocrites and hostile infidels who do tahreef (twisting) of Islamic texts to marginalize Islam and realize major sins.ĭ) Muslim psychology is being designed to accept a sinful society as normal and to make sins light.Į) Muslim psychology is being engineered to abandon jihad.į) Muslim legal systems are being actively sustained to reject the Islamic legal system and Islamic philosophical, judicial, and logical protocols. Even though Iran has reversed by Islamic revolution Malaysia is on a speedy downhill towards secular self annihilation. It has happened to Ottoman Turkey, Iran and now happening fast among Gulf and. This is a manifestation of Muslim inferiority complex. Muslim countries, due to lack of matured and deep understanding of Islam and the lack of willpower from the Muslim rulers, have caused the demise of Islam while being astonished by western culture. It is a trait of naive immature psychology to fall for astonishment. Our will to adopt it will shape not only our destiny but the destiny of the world! The only thing needing is the will of the Muslim rulers to adopt it and adhere by it like Islamic Republic of Iran did in 1979. However, Sharia Law has managed the greatest empires from east to west and created environment for Islamic golden age and so it can also manage modern Muslim states. Even still today Muslim countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and many others have contradicted this philosophy and reality of divine law. Islamic civilization since the time of Prophet Muhammad (s) until now, is firmly founded on the concept of ‘rule of Divine law.’ Even though throughout the Islamic history kings and caliphs have contradicted this rule of law based on secular aspects such as racism, nationalism and tribalism but the concept remains in Islamic or Shariah law and have been practiced more often than not. Shariah establishes the criteria by which all social actions are classified, categorized and administered within the overall governance of the state. Similarly, Shariah governs the interactions between communities, groups and social and economic organizations. Sharia law is disciplines and principles that govern the behavior of a Muslim individual towards his or herself, family, neighbors, community, city, nation and the Muslim polity as a whole, the Ummah (global Muslim community) and everyone under Islam’s jurisdiction. ![]()
